Went to bed last night thinking I need to write something the other two kids have said recently, to be fair. Oh the guilt of being a mom! So here goes:
On Sunday, Porter came into my closet while I was getting ready for church. I was getting my slip on and noticed him watching me real close and thought to myself: here comes something good - remembering my girls at least once had said something like, "your *utt is sooo big." Then he looked up at me and said, " Are you a princess? " I melted. He's already learning to say the right things - he will make a good husband someday.
Last night I was watching The Bachelorette and Savannah walked in and looked at the t.v. for a minute while she was handing out roses and then got real deep by saying, "Why would you just want to fish in a litttle pond when you've got the whole sea?" So we thankfully can check off any worries about her appearing on a dating reality show. Maybe our parenting skills aren't so awful after all!

While we were waiting out the thunder whistle at the pool, Elena, Cardyn, Savannah and I had many fun conversations. Cardyn at one point said, " I would be nothing without my dad . . .I'd literally have 0 personality!" So cute . . . and nice all the blame falls on him!

4th o' July

Another year of parade, pool and fireworks! The 4th is probably our favorite holiday and made more special by the amazing friends we have in this area! I love seeing everybody in their red, white and blue and all the funny adventures we have trying to get through the day. We are also so grateful for this great country we live in and the freedoms we enjoy.

Three

Today is my baby's birthday! Last night I put him to bed and told him "his story" . He thought it was funny. This morning I woke up to him snuggled in next to me and I just looked over his little body and noticed the chubby chin and arms and even the crease at the wrist were starting to melt away. He is definitely starting to become my big boy, but I could still see the baby in him and as he would stretch and scrunch his face up, it reminded me of the baby in him. The stuff you want to remember like my first look at him after he was born, or when I would check on him sleeping and he'd pull his legs up and sigh. I love this little man and look forward to him growing up, as long as it doesn't go too fast. Happy Birthday Porter!

He loves tacos.

Celebrating with friends at the pool last night.

I've got some Dare Devils

Today we spent the day at Six Flags! It is actually our 3rd trip so far for the summer, so we are well under way to use up and wear out our season passes! Richard has been able to come with us the last two times and really, it makes all the difference. My attitude about roller coasters is that it is like something in my past I really don't want to experience again, but not Daddy. The girls love impressing him with who will ride the big coasters. In turn, Richard does not like any rides that get you wet, and I do. I guess we sort of even things out. He did get me to go on a few big coasters this time, thanks in part to having the Johnson's and the Pulsipher's with us who were able to sit with Porter. We love having friends with us!! After getting really hot and sweaty (it is summertime in Georgia) we head over to Skull Island and cool off on the water slides. This gets the kids and to be honest us ready to kick it back up again at the park.

Overheard driving home from the pool tonight . . . I hear the girls excitedly talking about Six Flags tomorrow - trying to get me to commit to the exact time we will be leaving (which this seasoned momma knows better than to do that). Then cute Cardyn says, "Yes! Daddy is coming with us! He is like our Hero at Six Flags!"
