Rockin to the Beatles

Last night we got a tip on Facebook from our friend Derek Stotts that Beatle's Rockband was $65.00 at Target. So after Richard "encouraging" me to go get it ( it's a long story!), I got the address of the Target off of Camp Creek Pkwy and went up there to get the last one. I was super glad I did after seeing that it originally sold for $249. Richard came home and set it right up!

Tennis Lessons

With all the rain Georgia has been getting this season my girls haven't been to tennis lessons since before Christmas and they have missed it! We were so glad yesterday to be able to go. Their coaches are so cute with them and they are learning so much.



Porter and I waited in the car, but he was so cute when we first drove up and Coach Longee got the ball hopper out, his eyes lit up and he said, "ball, ball, ball" and then clapped when he saw them playing.

Got the Camera?

Yesterday I took to the kids to Monkey Joe's. They had been looking forward to it for a few days and this one had just opened up in Ashley Park. We met up with Kim and Kelly and their kids and Jenn P. and her kids. I was excited for them to run around and jump and get all their energy out and I was going to take cute pictures of them sliding down those big blow up things. My kids asked me when we left the house if I had the camera and I took this:

Since it is Winter Break from school, the madness was just too much and in between keeping track of the girls running with their friends and Porter, my camera stayed in the bag. At least I have proof we left the house. Typical.

From my old blog

I am getting ready to do new silhouettes, but I wanted to put these on here from my old blog. I love my babies! It is so cute how their personalities come through in the silhouettes. I remember noticing how Cardyn's chin is up in the air, and Savannah seems so demure. Richard was holding Porter and he was crying so his lips were hard to do, but ahhh that neck fat. Now that he is almost two he will look more like a human than a sack of potatoes.

Memories from my old blog and Snow Day

Richard was only able to recover some text from my old blog so I am going to go through some of the entries and maybe repost a few of the memories I had recorded in it. Today we woke up to all the snow that fell yesterday. It was so pretty, especially because it is a rare thing in the South to have that much snow fall and have it be there the next day. As soon as the snow started we kept trying to tell Porter what it was and he was so cute. We'd say snow and he would call it nose. I thought eventually he would get it, but this morning the girls brought him into our room and Richard opened the shade and he said "Nose." After a lazy morning the girls got dressed and went out to play in it with all the neighbor kids (all day long). Later that evening we packed the kids up and took them over to the Millers so Richard and I could go out. We wanted to go on a few errands so we just went to Moe's in the Avenue's so we could be close to all the stores we wanted to stop by. I have to say I am really going to enjoy this babysitting swap we are doing with the Millers. Tonight we just bathed the kids, made some brownies with dark chocolate icing and watched a few of the short skate races to see Apolo Ohno.

Play Date and Girls Night Out

Cardyn had Brooklyn ride the bus home today and since it is so cold outside they stayed in and did crafts. I had a much needed Girls Night out with Erin, Elena, Julie, Kim and Lisa. We met up for dinner and then went to see "Dear John". I really had a great time out with this fabulous group of ladies but that movie put me on edge. It is a typical Nicholas Sparks book turned movie where two young people find true love, something tragic takes them apart and either keeps them apart or they find their way back to each other later on in life. It was so sad to me. I kept saying "oh," not another blow. I can't decide if I liked it or not. Richard made me laugh later on when I was telling him about it, I said, "When they were falling in love it was just how you picture falling in love to be." His response: "Let me guess making out in the rain and him singing to her." (As he buries his head in the pillow trying to make me stop talking to him so he can go to sleep.) He nailed it though . . .but he didn't sing, she played the guitar. There has always got to be making out in the rain!
Speaking of which, Valentine's Day is well under way around the Spiers' house. The girls decorated the house and laid their cute outfits out for school. Why do they need to look like a walking valentine? I guess I need to wear my purple sweater for Date Night tomorrow, or maybe my red shoes. Mother Nature squelched their class Valentine Parties - no school today because we are expected to get 3-4 inches of snow today! They are so excited!

Missing my kids

I am so glad my kids got to spend the weekend at their grandparents, but I have missed them so much. I had anxiety Friday with even the thought of them away from me, even though it has been relaxing, and my house has stayed clean, I have realized that my life is so blessed to have these three little children to care for. I guess it is weekends at Gramman's and Pa's that make you remember how much you treasure your babies and really don't mind the mess and chaos. Richard and I got to spend so much time together and I am so thankful for that. He truly is my world! I am excited to get them home this afternoon and get all their hugs and kisses. Porter has never been away from me until now so I am anxious to see how he will act. Carolyn said the first night when he was going to sleep he kept saying "Mom". I am so grateful to be their "mom".

We Finally had a Sunny day so Porter and I spent an hour on the trampoline jumping, listening to birds and Porter pointing out all the airplanes flying over us.
