I can't hold back our excitement for SUMMER!! Long, lazy days at the pool with very good friends. It's like a Tommy Hilfiger ad in my mind.
I went to Cardyn's class for lunch today and we ate out in the courtyard. The kids are out of their mind ready to be out of school and the boys were roping people up with a long jump rope. I asked Cardyn if they ever jumped rope as a group and she said no so Mrs. Weatherford and I turned the rope for the whole class. It was so fun and they seemed to love it. I secretly wished that I could have jumped in there. Probably wouldn't have worked out as good as it did in my mind, since I was probably in 3rd grade the last time I jumped like that. I feel bad for not going to lunch very often this year. It seems like such a chore to be up there for 2 lunches with Porter. Next year I will go with each girl on different days and try to do it more often. We ended the night with a nice family walk. We are looking forward to a great summer!

I'm not going to lie. Today was a tough mom day. My almost 3 year old had a meltdown at CVS and I made it through the tantrum without giving in to any of his demands. I think he and I learned that I'm tougher than we both thought. I also got my car vacuumed and 3 loads of laundry folded and put away due to some misbehaving. I think I am going to make it through the summer just fine.

A Night at Turner Field

Savannah's school chorus got chosen to sing the National Anthem for the Brave's game last night. I was so excited to go out to a ball game and see my baby sing. Porter talked about it for days. He walked around with his bat, ball and glove 24/7 and talked about playing baseball. Sometimes there were dinosaurs involved and sometimes his friend Reese was on his team. We had to get Savannah with her group early so I didn't factor in how waiting around for several hours detracted from the fun. It was so much fun to see her group so excited and walk out on the field together. I asked Savannah if she got nervous after seeing how many people were there and she said she thought there would be more. Getting her where she needed to be and our family seated and then running back down to see where she was walking out so I could pick her up and then running back up to our seats to record it, getting turned around and walking to the whole other side and then back down to pick her up, in flip-flops, nearly wore blisters on my feet. Porter would not stop climbing over everything and by the time the game started he was asking to go home. But we made it to the 6th inning and having a game under our belts, could probably do things a little better next time. I got a kick out of Porter clapping along with all the things they do to get the crowd going. Savannah was up dancing away trying to get on the jumbotron. Cardyn found her friend Macy and ended up sitting and riding home with them. I am proud of you Savannah and glad you got the chance to do this!

Spoiled

I am so grateful and blessed to get to be called 'Mom' by Savannah, Cardyn and Porter! I will always cherish their sweet cards to me and remember the excitement they had in giving me their gifts. I owe Richard big for giving me such wonderful, beautiful children!

Confession

My kids own more than the two shirts/outfits they are always wearing when I take a picture. The real confession is that I have a habit of pulling the outfit they wore the day before out of the dryer the next morning and putting it back on them. It is something I have done since my girls were little, and though they had many dresses, I seemed to put them in the same one or two. Cardyn even got very attached to one dress and insisted on wearing it every day when she was about 2 1/2. Two things made me make this confession. The first is in my recent blog catching up, I had a hard time deciding which day some pictures belonged to because of the same outfit and second is from a recent cleaning out of a closet. I have been putting clothes that should go to Goodwill aside to oneday make a quilt from my kids clothes. It has gotten quite cluttered so I thought I'd go through it and if the outfit had a special memory to me and I could really remember the kids wearing it, I'd keep it, if not, I'd send it on to charity. Well, due to my little confession above, very few outfits pulled at my heartstrings. I'm glad I got that off my chest.

Field Day

This is how Richard gets to watch a soccer game . . .keeping the other two busy.

Out with the Boys!

Who needs a park? Line Creek was made for these little men!

Miramar 2011

We bumped our Miramar vacation up a bit this year and spent Easter at our favorite place on earth! Unfortunately for Savannah and I it was during CRCT, so we missed a few days with everyone. We really love it there and Richard's wheel's are turning on how to get down there more often. We had so much fun with the Boland's and Stephen and Jordan. We also found out the Easter Bunny fills your pails up with eggs and treats when you are at the beach for Easter!
