A Good Day . . .

Today ends the kids being out of school for a week (Spring Break). I was so excited to have them home for the week, but I have to admit they wiped me out! It was a good rehearsal for me to get ready for summer and gave me a few ideas to be ready for some of the pitfalls of them being home all day. I do love having them with me all the time, but this week reminded me of how bored they get, and how much they want to play with somebody, and the money I spend entertaining them. Since we weren't going out of town, we just did a few little outings here and there: Monkey Joes, the park, out to the movies to see "Diary of a Wimpy Kid". They got to sleep over at the Hank's and go shopping at Charming Charlie's. Porter's week didn't go great with all the comings and goings. He is used to being on a really low key schedule and getting a nap at around the same time every day. I felt like I was either trying to get him down early for a short nap that I would have to wake him up from to go somewhere, or being gone too long and letting him take a late nap which would then mean he was up late. We are back to normal for now. Today we had a normal Saturday. Savannah's soccer game in the morning, run home feed the kids lunch, put Porter down for a nap. Richard planted the plants we have so far for our garden. I hoed by the side of the garden where we have our garlic and herbs growing. It was in such bad shape and we put a strawberry plant near the rocks. *Here's hoping the deer won't get it.* Then, we decided to pull the carpet up that was in the screened in porch. We pulled all the furniture out and got it up. Then we cleaned up for Cardyn's soccer game, woke Porter up and left for that. After her game we stopped at Home Depot for some quickcrete and came home to put up posts to pull our grape vines out. Then Richard pressure washed the porch and smoked some stuff for us to eat! It was nice to get back to normal and get some things accomplished this week. After dinner we bathed the kids and put on a movie and we all just crashed on the couch.
