We made it through our first full week of Summer! Last weekend we went to Ellijay to spend Friday and Saturday with the Boland's. Richard and Ryan wanted to map out a route on the river to take the kids down. Their little adventure turned out to be a 4 hour excursion that left Jenn and I saying "Should we be worried?" They showed up after dinner and baths for the kids freezing and not the least bit interested in taking the kids down the next day. I think they did figure out a better spot to put in at for future trips. Saturday we got up hoping to get croissants at Ingle's, but they were still proofing. We ended up going to Mercier Orchard's in Blue Ridge. We ate their house specialty of fried apple pies among other flavors and I really liked all their products in their store. The hit of the day was going out to the cherry orchards and picking/eating all we wanted. We all got our fill of cherries and brought home about 8 lbs. I never knew there were so many varieties of cherries!
Monday, was Memorial Day and we tried to go the pool, but Porter got sick so we spent the next few days laying low. The girls were lucky to have friends pick them up for pool days. Friday, Stephen and I took the kids to Six Flags. It was so much fun aside from the heat. We are so excited to have season passes this year!
Saturday we went into the city to see Uncle Stephen's new loft. I'll have to take my camera up and get some pictures of his place. Very Urban, Very cool . . Richard had to remind me that we took a different path in life. Overall, summer is off to a good start! Here are some Sunday pictures:
